SCANDINOVA REACHES NEW MILESTONE – 1000 SOLID-STATE PULSE MODULATORS DELIVERED!

ScandiNova 1000 modulators

Uppsala, Sweden, December 20, 2019. ScandiNova Systems AB, a world leader in new generation pulsed power systems, has reached another milestone: Pulse modulator unit no 1000 is ready to be shipped from our production facility in Uppsala, Sweden.

-One thousand modulators delivered is another major milestone for ScandiNova. I am very proud of our achievements and grateful to all the fantastic customers who put their trust in our company, says Mikael Lindholm, Senior Vice President, Sales&Marketing at ScandiNova Systems.

Pulse modulator no 1000, equipped with 6MW X-band klystron, will be shipped to Eindhoven University of Technology, powering a compact and portable X-ray source, called Smart*Light. The RF system will deliver at least 6 MW RF peak power at an operating frequency of 11.9942 GHz. Maximum RF pulse length is 4 µs and the pulse repetition rate can reach beyond 400 Hz. The RF pulse will be used to drive one or more X-band accelerator structures to accelerate electrons.

Since its foundation in 2001, ScandiNova has established itself as the leading supplier of high-voltage solid-state pulse modulators with a worldwide customer base. The largest sales increase comes from customers within cancer therapy, cargo scanning and particle physics.

The foundations of the company’s success are its unique technology plus its modular concept that enable very high reliability and performance to be packaged in compact enclosures. The technology also offers improved pulse quality, increased power-efficiency and higher user-safety than traditional technologies.
